Belonging

It's funny how a place feels different when you know you don't belong there anymore. Today we had to come back to school for baccalaureate practice and senior class picture (before that DL, MF, and I went to the Dixie and then went over to Veteran's Park to kill some time but all of the swings and playground equipment was burning hot and we didn't feel like getting sweaty before even getting to school so we drove up to the library and sat in some chairs and read books that we didn't actually check out). Anyway, even though we're not officially graduated there was still that sense that we had moved on from SHS and didn't belong there anymore. After everyone left, DL and I stuck around for the track party and while we waited for the last bell to ring, we sat at a table in the cafeteria and just chilled out. It's funny how much faster time goes when you're somewhere boring by choice and not because you're being forced to be there.
DL reads MF's yearbook note and quenches her thirst.

After the track party I came home for a bit before going back to school for MF and DL's orchestra concert. We had to wait through the middle schooler's concert (it was way better than I was thinking it'd be) and then some boring music (no offense) before MF and DL's senior pieces (The Boxer and Mr. Sandman) which were great and then came MR's million-movement piece and I had to pee and the scent of rotting cabbage kept wafting out of nowhere at random intervals so I didn't enjoy that piece as much. But DL and MF's pieces made the whole concert worth it.
Mr. Price talks about DL and MF.
MR, MF, and DL present the senior gift.

And now it is time for me to go. Happy Tuesday.
