Long December Days

I think I might remember these whole days...at least for a while.
Yesterday and today have been loooooong days. But long days of the best variety. Days spent with my best friends in the whole world, along with some of my very new friends from drama club.
Yesterday was the student performance of our fall show, The Jukebox diner. Since we had showings during third and sixth period, we just stayed together with the drama club all day long. Believe me, the day went way faster than a day full of mundane classes. That being said, it was exhausting and stressful at times, so even though it was really fun I don't think I'd really want to do it every day. In the morning we reported to Mr. G's (our drama instructor) classroom to get our microphones, costumes, and make up on, and while doing all of that, Mr. G was blasting music, and before we had to go to the auditorium, he asked MF what her favorite song was so he could play it last as a tribute to her. After some deliberation, MF goes "Play Let It Go!!!" Which is of course the perfect choice.
2nd period was spent setting up the set and doing mic checks and me convincing MF that she wasn't nervous. Then third period came and the kids started piling in and it finally started hitting us: this is real. This is happening. So the show starts, and all of a sudden, people are LAUGHING!! People are responding and reacting! Which no one was accustomed to because obviously in rehearsal we don't have an audience! We know it's supposed to be funny, but no one's there to actually laugh at it, so it was just a totally different dynamic having people out there really responding to what's happening on stage! And because of that, everyone on stage did an even better job!!! It was amazing. MF did soooooo great, and so did everyone else, even me with my four lines. I rocked them, LOL. Then during fourth mod, we couldn't really do anything because it was lunch time, so we all just hung out in the auditorium jamming out to awesome music, such as Justin Bieber's new song "Sorry", which is the bomb diggity. Me and MF were getting DOWN. And of course Adele's beloved "Hello". It was a great time. Then we ate lunch, during which some people sold more tickets to the sixth mod show. Then during fifth period it was back down to Mr. G's classroom for a costume change, and another mic check. Then sixth mod came and it was almost a full house, which is crazy!! We performed the second half of the play, but it didn't last the whole period, so on the spur of the moment, we decided to go back and do the first half again and whoowee back stage was crazy, everyone scrambling around to find their first outfits and change and come in on time. It was a mess, but we pulled it together and it went great. Then during the curtain call, it was hilarious because the curtain smacked into me because I'm on the end.
After school, Mr. G said we did a really great job, which we did. Everyone was coming up to Morgan and telling her what a great job she did, and it was so cool.
Today was another long day. I had to return to my regular schedule of classes, but before school, we had FCA, which I was in charge of the lesson for. Then after school, we just had a short drama meeting about what time we should get there tomorrow night and some of the stuff we're doing after performances (such as a post show dinner at IHOP and a cast party at ARB's house). Then we had a few hours to kill before we needed to be at the school again to play with the orchestra for back to school night. So MF and I went to China Maple for supper, which was really fun and yummy. It still amazes me that I can just get in my car and do stuff like that! Just drive around with my friends and decide I want Chinese food and just go get it!! Then we came back to school, and we still had some time, so we just hung out in the empty auditorium practicing our Miss America walk and scheming how we could hack into the computer that was being used for the presentation that evening and change the background to something crazy. Then we went into the cafeteria where there was a little area of peoples' art on display, and we admired everyone's talent. DS had some amazing pieces on display. She's so darn talented. Like wickedly talented. And AP had some photos out for display too and they were so good! It was so awesome to see all my classmates' artwork!!! Then we got our instruments and just sat at a table and talked and waited for people to show up.
Finally after we played some songs, we were free to go. It was around 7:30pm (I rarely get to see the light of day anymore. Go into school when it's still dark, leave when it's dark again.) Anyway, on the way out we ran into one of the guys from drama again (he's also in orchestra) and we talked to him for a bit and then I drove MF home. And we were like "We made a friend!!!!" And it's so true! I mean, there are plenty of other people in the orchestra that we've never really gotten to know, but because of drama, we've gotten to know so many more people than we ever would have!
On the way home, we sang along to Christmas songs again and it was awesome. Definitely a day to remember.
These next few days are going to be insanely busy, so I heartily apologize if I don't write again for a while. The play is opening up tomorrow night ( IF YOU'RE IN THE AREA YOU SHOULD TOTALLY COME), and then on Saturday we're going to get our puppy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So it's gonna be wild and crazy, and hopefully I'll find time to blog, but as of now I don't even know when I'm gonna be able to clean my room and do dishes for pete's sake!! So that's why I'll be doing those things at 9:30 PM on a random Wednesday, harhar.
