Unified Track State Meet

     Today was states for track and it was 92 degrees, humid, and sunny, but aside from positively roasting all day, it was a lot of fun. There was a really touching moment when a kid crossed the finish line in his walker and his teammate gave him a big hug and was so excited for him. That's why I love unified sports. And in no other sport do kids from other teams just walk up to you while you're doing your event and just start chatting with you. Three of our team members got first place in their running events, and we got third place overall in our division, so now I have one of every color medal for unified sports. Gold for tennis counties, silver for track counties, and bronze for track states. Yay! Unfortunately DL got stuck taking the AP Gov exam, so she couldn't attend, but she was there in spirit. And there's always next year.
