The 5th Wave

A couple days ago, I was bored so I started watching book trailers on YouTube and I stumbled across the book trailer for The 5th Wave, which AB had given me for my birthday, and the trailer made me really curious and I hadn't been that excited about reading anything new since I finished Amy & Roger's Epic Detour, so I picked up The 5th Wave and started reading. I read over 200 pages over the course of a day and then I finished the book off with another 160 or so pages today. It was really good and such a faced-paced read. I would definitely compare it with Divergent or The Hunger Games on the pacing scale. It was one of those books that I could just fly through. I figured out what was going on before most of the characters did, but that didn't really matter because it was still really suspenseful and entertaining. I love post-apocalyptic survival dramas. In fact, if I could magically become a really great actress, I would want to act in a post-apocalyptic survival drama as my first movie.

About halfway through The 5th Wave I decided that it would be a really good book to make into a movie, and then after I finished it, I Googled it and found out that they've already filmed it and it's supposed to come out next January! It's also starring Chloë Grace Moretz, who I think will be a fantastic Cassie. Plus, she's actually the right age to be playing a 16-year-old, instead of in her late twenties, like most actors who play teenagers nowadays.

Nick Robinson is supposed to play Ben Parish, and at first I didn't think he was very Ben Parish-esque, but I don't know, I think he'll be okay:

I'm not digging the dude they chose for Evan, though. Granted, I didn't really dig Evan either.

But if I had my choice, it would totally have been Max Irons.

But look at the cute little kid they chose to play Sammy!

Holding the second book in the series!

Well, that's all. If you're looking for a fast-paced novel featuring aliens, some BA characters, and the end of the world, pick up The 5th Wave.

Day 456 Song Recommendation: "Bleeding Out" by Imagine Dragons. Imagine Dragons has so many songs that would be perfect for The 5th Wave.
