More Weddings

Last night, SE got me on board with the wedding planning hoopla (why are girls so obsessed with weddings? I don't know, but it sure is fun), so I planned out everyone's wedding as well, and we compared our final results. I guess MF told us the most about what she wants for her wedding, because for her we had the most things in common. For the rest, I went a bit over the top, and chose things based on my friends' personalities, rather than what they might ACTUALLY want for their wedding. But of course, these weddings are far off in the future, so who knows what's going to happen. It was still super fun to imagine all my friends' weddings out. So here are my results.

MF's Daisy Sea Glass Ceremony

MF and some of her family members collect sea glass, and I know that MF wants to incorporate sea glass into her wedding, especially  using pieces to adorn her veil. Since this is of course an extremely creative idea (because that's the kind of person MF is) I couldn't find any pictures of a sea glass veil. I did however find these adorable sea glass soap wedding favors, (top left) and cute cookies with sea glass candy on top (bottom left). Since MF loves daisies, I picked out this adorable yellow daisy wedding cake, a bouquet of daisies and blue wildflowers (to match the sea glass), and daisy centerpieces for the tables. Obviously MF is getting married at St. Peter's By The Sea, the cozy cute little church where she was baptized as a baby. The dress I chose is the wedding dress that Mary Queen of Scots wore on the show Reign, and the bridesmaids dresses are simple vintage 50s style dresses, in either yellow to match the daisy theme, or light blue to match the sea glass motif. The wedding invitations depict sea glass and star fish, and could be homemade.

AP's Backyard Gathering
I'm not sure where AP wants to get married, but somehow I can picture her doing a simple, casual backyard wedding. Continuing with the casual outdoor style, I can envision her supplying Mason jars to all the guests as their drinking glasses, especially since AP's family is well known for their delicious canned goods! AP is a no frills kind of girl, so her wedding will be one of the only times you'll ever catch her in a dress. Because of that, I picture her dress being pretty simple, but super gorgeous (since AP is gorgeous herself), maybe with a halter-style top. Her bridesmaids dresses will also reflect her no frills attitude, and might be in a green or blue. Her bouquet will be a collection of wildflowers, some of which might come from her very own flowerbed--I know she grows beautiful crocuses! Because AP's passion is photography, I wouldn't be surprised if her backyard bash included lots of pictures hanging in mismatched frames from the trees of her backyard. Some of the pictures would of course be taken by AP. Her invitations would be simple and  pretty, maybe with a cute flower illustration. AP and her family love pies, especially made from the fruit and berries from their garden, so maybe in lieu of a traditional wedding cake, she'd opt for a homemade wedding pie! And, AP's love for silly photography certainly cannot go unrecognized during her wedding! I'm sure there will be pictures similar to the last square taken at her wedding.

AB's Book Themed Matrimony

AB's wedding wouldn't be complete without bookmarks as wedding favors! And she even has a very good friend who makes her bookmarks all the time, and would be more than happy to make them for her wedding! (That's me). Her bouquet absolutely must incorporate flowers crafted from book pages! It's just so AB! As depicted in the top right and bottom right pictures, her tables will be adorned with beautiful book-stack centerpieces. Her invitations could be library cards, and her venue--an old and beautiful library!!!! This dress with the lace cap sleeves and a line skirt would look absolutely beautiful on AB, and her bridesmaids dresses could be dark purple with simple frills. Lastly, it only makes sense for her cake to be fashioned after a stack of books--all her favorite titles of course! AB's book themed wedding will be the event of the year.

SE's Best Exotic Marigold Wedding

SE's wedding was a total blast to plan. At first I had no idea what theme I wanted to go with, but then it just hit me like a ton of bricks! A world-travel/Bollywood motif, complete with elephant accents. It just makes sense. The completely-unrealistic-totally-out-of-anyone's-price-range location for SE's wedding is naturally the Grand Canyon. Then for the reception, everyone heads to the dance floor to get their Bollywood on. Bright and exotic flowers are a must at SE's wedding. Her bridesmaids will wear navy blue saris, her husband will don an Indian style charcoal suit, and she will be a vision in a lacy white sari. Her place holders and centerpieces will be elegant silver elephants, and her cake will be a BEAUTIFUL elephant with bride and groom riding atop. Lastly, her invitations will be little world maps, since SE has a heart full of wanderlust.

Now I am totally in the wedding planning mood. I watched a movie the other day about a wedding planner, and the wedding she planned had NOTHING on these awesome ceremonies! Of course, Pinterest and Bing images does make the planning process pretty easy. I'm sure you can expect more wedding collages in the future. Maybe we'll make this a yearly tradition and see how much our ideas have changed!
