Island Driving

One thing I will not miss about this island is the driving. Or rather, being a passenger. For one, it's very easy to get lost. For two, the whole left-side-of-the-road driving in left-side-steering-wheel cars. It's very discombobulating. I do not like it, Sam I Am. Also, as I've mentioned, people drive crazy around here. A remarkable amount of cars have some kind of damage to them, for reasons obvious when driving/being a passenger. Turn signals seem to be optional, maximum horn-blaring obligatory. There should be an ad in a tourist magazine: "If you're seeking the adventure of a lifetime, look no further than the roads of St. Thomas." Honestly. And there should be an asterisk beside it denoting "Watch out for suicidal motorcylists, and remember- buckle up! Serious injury may be obtained while in a vehicle."
Today I lounged around at the pool, read, and took pictures of an iguana:
Then we went to a jazz festival in a park (getting lost along the way and having to ask a hostess for directions because <gasp> no cell service means no Internet or GPS! Time to go old fashioned.) We got some good food from the vendors set up there (I got a cup of some delicious passion fruit juice. The vendor also had sea moss juice, peanut juice, sorrel juice, and ginger beer, but I wasn't that adventurous). We listened to jazz music while we ate dinner and then got some ice cream (peanut in a cone. Mmh) and then went back to our car to find that someone had parked on the street in front of the car so we couldn't get out and we waited around for five minutes or so until the guy showed up and moved his car, luckily.

Day 245 Song Recommendation: "Heartache Tonight" by the Eagles. For the longest time, I thought the chorus was "There's gonna be a party tonight" instead of "heartache tonight".
