Christmas And Books

If someone could buy me this shirt that would be
great.
Okay today I went on my first ever pinterest binge.
I have had a pinterest for a while now but I don't actually get on it that much because I feel like it relates to Tumblr because it's basically pictures and no gifs. Once again I am listening to Christmas music. I seriously need a five step program. It's June and i'm scratching misquote bites listening to Christmas music and thinking about what I will bake for this Christmas. My kids will be so spoiled because I will probably do every Christmas tradition I hear about. I am enjoying the summer though with getting a lot of reading done. This also means that I buy a lot books as well. This is kind of what I wanted to talk about. I wish that I could say that this post was going to be meaningful but it won't it's just me talking/ranting about the stuff that bothers me.
I was very blessed to grow up in a conservative home. My parent's are conservative about almost everything. Not books though. I went to the store today to find 'The Storyteller' by Jodi Picoult and I couldn't find it. Ugh! So I drove to the bookstore where I believe that books are more expensive than necessary. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love bookstores and would own one if I could. I found the book and it was paperback and normally at most stores that aren't bookstores it would be about ten dollars. Except Jodi is a really popular author so it was $16.00. Yeah I know it's a six dollar difference big deal but that adds up because I buy multiple books at once. Maybe I need a five step program for that too. Who doesn't like to save money? Since I do want bookstores to stay alive I bought a book. (I'll get back to that.) I went home and bought some books on Amazon for around thirty dollars. If I had bought all those books at the books store it would have cost me $52.00 that's about a twenty dollar difference. So yes the six dollars does count in the end. If bookstores want to 'stay around' than they need to bring their prices down. Like I said before even though I love bookstores and trust me I do want them to stay around I do want to get the best price I possibly can. Going back to my parents being all liberal on books and the book I bought. I went home and showed my Mom the book and she laughed. Though I do believe that she is worried about me. I have heard nothing but good things about this book and I am excited to read it.
