Let's Twist Again

I watched the movie "The Help" a few days ago.  It was the third or fourth time I'd seen it, but it was still such a great movie.  Everything about it is remarkable- the characters, the sets, the script, the costumes, the music.  But the thing that I took from it this time was a special features interview with the author, Kathryn Stockett.  In the interview, she talks about how she was rejected over sixty times.  But she wouldn't take no for an answer.  People telling her no just made her want it more.  And it paid off. Because after sixty rejections, she finally got an agent, and then she got published, and then her book got 100 weeks on the New York Times Bestseller List.  Not to mention being published in 42 different languages, selling over 10 million copies, and being made into a movie. I think we can all agree that "The Help" was a huge success.  But we wouldn't know anything about it if it weren't for Kathryn Stockett's tenacity.  Some may even call it her obstinacy.  Whatever it was, it got her what she wanted. It took courage, and a lot of time.  But it goes to show that sometimes you have to say "Yes" when everyone around you is giving an adamant "No".  If it's something you really believe in, something you really want, sometimes you have to be the one that fights for it.  Because you may be the only one who knows what it's worth.

Day Seven Song Recommendation:  "Let's Twist Again" by Chubby Checker. (From "The Help". Wouldn't have known it though, if it weren't for DL.  Thank you!)
